Boinnet drops guns in favor of Faith

Former Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has chosen the way of faith after retiring from Police service.

After serving the country for four years as police boss, Boinnet will return to his local church where he has been ordained to serve as a church elder and will be replaced by Hillary Mutyambai.

“I got to know of my appointment (as the IG) when I was in church and I felt good. Here is where I drive my strength. I will be more active in the church, more active farming, looking after my livestock and see my kids go to school,” Boinett said.

During his tenure as police boss, Boinnet will be remembered for overseeing rescue operations during the dusit D2 attack that left 21 lives dead and the Garissa university attack that claimed 148 lives.

Despite cries and concern over the amount of young lives that have been lost during his term in office, Boinnet points out that he is personally convinced that he has served the country to the best of his knowledge and ability.
