Tension rises over Moi University closing down

Tension is rising among Moi University, Nairobi Campus, students over a looming close down of their campus.

Internal sources reveal that the university has already surrendered several floors at it’s Bazaar building over inability to pay rent.

The Moi University Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics, Research and Extension) Prof Isaac Kimengi revealed that several students currently in 2nd year and third year will be shifted to the main campus in Eldoret.

Students are now worried that the move is a plot to privately transfer students to the main campus before finally closing down the Nairobi Campus.

“There is panic and confusion. We don’t know what is happening, and like you know these people never tell the truth.” A Nairobi Campus student said

The student further indicated that there is a possibility that students will be moved to the main campus in small numbers before the final close down.

To worsen the state, a senior lecturer based at the main campus indicated that the university is facing a cash crisis
